Brighton Museum and Art Gallery has a broad range of artworks from the 20th Century, including by artists associated with the Camden Town Group (it was the first UK art collection to acquire a painting by Robert Bevan), a strong collection of paintings and sculptures by Glyn Philpot, naturally many artists with strong Sussex connections, such as Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, as well as a group of American artworks from the Heyer bequest.
