Dr Sarah Victoria Turner is Deputy Director for Research at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art in London. She is an art historian and curator specialising in nineteenth- and twentieth-century art.
She co-curated 'The Great Spectacle: 250 of the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition' with Mark Hallett at the Royal Academy of Arts in London (June to August 2018). She is also co-editor of the accompanying exhibition catalogue and digital publication The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 1769–2018: A Chronicle. With Hammad Nasar, she co-leads the London, Asia research project.
Sarah was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and named one of Apollo magazine's '40 Under 40' inspirational people in the European art world. She is co-editor of British Art Studies, a multi-award-winning open-access journal. Before joining the Paul Mellon Centre, Sarah was Lecturer in History of Art at the University of York.
