Painter, born in Glasgow, where she continued to live. She studied at the School of Art there, 1957–61, first showing with Allan Fletcher and Douglas Abercrombie in Glasgow in 1958. From 1965–7 she worked in Spain, then returned to Glasgow. She had her first solo show as a studio exhibition in 1965, having her second at Traverse Gallery, Edinburgh, 1968, then another in 1969 at Compass Gallery, Glasgow. A retrospective followed at the North Briton Gallery, Gartocharn, in 1973. A large-scale show of her work was held at Third Eye Centre, Glasgow, in 1975. She continued busily exhibiting in mixed and group shows, having another retrospective at McLellan Galleries, Glasgow, in 1986. Her work is held by Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and by Scottish Arts Council, whose award she won in 1970.
