A Latin cross set on an tapering octagonal shaft and octagonal plinth. Each side of the plinth has an inset stone plaque which commemorate the names of the fallen from the First World War. The memorial has a three-stepped base with dedication inscription at the front. Located to the rear of the cross there is a one-metre-high wall element, in three sections at a slight angle to each other, to wrap around the cross, with a dedication and the names of the fallen from the Second World War. The wall sits on a two-stepped base which adjoins the base of the cross. The lettering is incised and leaded. The whole is set on a gravelled area, surrounded by cast iron railings. It was painted red, white and blue for the coronation in 1953 though the majority is now repainted black.
