A freestone pillar, octagonal in form, atop a flight of three steps. Each side of the octagonal chamber has sunk panels with Dedication and Roll of Honour inscriptions. On the south side. denoting 'Duty and Defence', is the figure of a soldier in the attitude of doing duty. The plinth chamber is finished with a balcony projecting over diagonal panels. An octagonal column has a 'Sword of Victory' on the front. A double chain balustrade surrounds the base of the memorial.
