An open public space with paving, carving, seating, wrought-iron railings, and mosaic paving. The public space is divided from the private chapel garden by railings depicting Christian imagery. The floorscape consists of two circular spaces, one of which is a spiral path of coloured brick around a central 'font' taking the form of a low altar with a dip in the centre of the top with a shallow channel spiralling out to release water at either side (font now missing). The tile path spirals out to the second circle – a tile and pebble mosaic with Celtic-inspired shapes (the original raised hemispherical centre now missing). Wooden bench seating surrounds the two circles, the tops incised with vein-like lines. Green railings with brick piers enclose the space, the metalwork bars forming sinuous art nouveau style flowers and stems.
