The statue St Margaret is set in the niche on the south porch of the church of St Margaret - one of its fifteenth century glories - especially when viewed with the earlier clerestory. The saint stands on the dragon which according to legend had swallowed her. She looks down her hand clasped in prayer with a cloak over her robes whose long vertical pleats follow the flowing outline of her pose.
