Sculptor in stone and wood, married to stained glass artist Paul Quail. She was born in India, where at an early age she was influenced by temple carvings, in 1954 spent a year carving at Natal Technical College, Durban, South Africa, then worked at the Cyrene Mission Art School, Harare, in what is now Zimbabwe, moving to England in 1960. Until 1982 Quail mostly made small carvings, then worked mainly on church commissions, including National Shrine, Walsingham; Parish Church, Shipdham; St John the Baptist, Harleston; St Paul’s Church, East Ham; and Catholic Church, Queensway. Lived in Gunthorpe, Norfolk.
