The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting exceptional all-round students from diverse countries around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship program in the world. Rhodes House, Oxford, is the home of the Rhodes Scholarships and the Rhodes Trust (an educational charity whose principal activity is to administer and fund the Rhodes Scholarships). The beautiful gardens and principal rooms are available for private functions and the majority of the paintings and sculptures around the House have been generously donated by Trustees, former students, and friends of the Trust.
The paintings and sculptures are not in public ownership. In accordance with the charitable aims of the Trust, which is a private institution, the collection is included on this website for the benefit of scholarship and for wider public awareness. Access to the view part of the collection is by appointment only. Please contact the Director of Finance, The Rhodes Trust, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3RG.
