The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, sharing these works with the public at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London.
The Gallery is most famous for its iconic Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces – such as Van Gogh's 'Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear' and Manet's 'A Bar at the Folies-Bergere' – but also displays works from the Renaissance through to the present day. The Gallery also holds an exceptional collection of drawings and prints and fine examples of sculpture and decorative arts.
The dynamic permanent collection sits alongside an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions and events aimed at a wide range of visitors. Having the time and space to enjoy and engage with art is key to the Gallery as a whole – enabling visitors to be inspired by incredible artworks, in a beautiful setting.
