The Laing Art Gallery is managed by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums on behalf of Newcastle City Council. Situated in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne the Laing Art Gallery is home to an impressive collection of art and sculpture and its exhibition programme is renowned for bringing the biggest names in historic, modern and contemporary art to the North East of England.
The Laing Art Gallery’s impressive permanent displays can be enjoyed throughout the year with dynamic landscapes by John Martin, sculpture by Henry Moore, wood carving by Gerrard Robinson and other spectacular artwork by J. M. W. Turner, Paul Gauguin and Stanley Spencer.
The popular programme of free events throughout the year at the Laing Art Gallery includes talks from leading contemporary artists, Picture of the Month talks and also fun activities for families. The Gallery also has a popular shop and café.

Paintings from the Fine Art collection at the Laing Art Gallery are occasionally on loan to support other exhibitions held in the UK or abroad and works on show change regularly. If you wish to know the location of a particular painting please contact the Museum.
