Fraserburgh Heritage Centre is housed in what was originally a herring barrel store, then the foundry of the Consolidated Pneumatic Tool Company Ltd, before being converted in 1998 to a modern visitor centre which illustrates the history of Fraserburgh and its people.
The building is leased by Fraserburgh Heritage Society and the Centre is run by volunteers from the Society. This project, created by the local community, was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund PESCA Programme.
