Robert Wilkes is a postdoctoral researcher in art history at the State University of Campinas in Brazil. He was awarded a PhD from Oxford Brookes University in 2020 for his thesis on the Pre-Raphaelite artist and author Frederic George Stephens. He has published articles in The Burlington Magazine and The British Art Journal and his forthcoming book about a portrait by Thomas Lawrence will be published in Brazil. He lives in São Paulo.
