Melissa Chemam is a writer, cultural journalist and broadcaster. Since 2003, she has been based in Prague, Paris, Miami, London, Nairobi, reporting in Europe, the Americas and Africa, mainly for the BBC World Service, DW and different art magazines. She is the author of a book on Bristol's cultural scene, Massive Attack: Out of the Comfort Zone, and writes primarily about art, music, multiculturalism, activism and social change. She's also a lecturer in journalism at UWE Bristol.
