A statue of an infantryman, standing on guard with his rifle raised, is set on top of a classical pillar. On the front face of the pillar is a full height plaque inscribed with a standing angel holding a wreath and a sword. The pillar rises from a square plinth which stands on a three-stepped square base. Alongside the memorial is a bench whose back illustrates infantrymen, barbed wire and poppies.
