A large circle has been chosen to reflect both the shapes of the Celtic ring and the coal mine, winding wheel. This ring shape also symbolises the ring of eternity and pays particular regard to the landscape of the locality, which was initially changed by human influence, to being a coal spoil tip, and black rivers, but through time a natural healing process has occurred, and the land has returned to a green landscape. Inspiration for the sculpture came from the following text – 'All things from Eternity are of like forms and come around in a full Circle'.
