A winding wheel from the Writhlington Coal Mine has been relocated to sit on a column cut in half in the middle and decorated with fossils imprints on terracotta tiles. A grey band separates the tiles in decreasing gaps. Two parallel green-coloured metal bars forming a gentle arc from the top of the wheel to the ground also support the wheel. The whole structure is raised on a platform with pavement ornamentation echoing the terracotta tiles with fossils forming large patterns of flowers, cogs and wheels.
