Alan Wood
1935–2017
Painter, collagist and teacher, full name John Alan Wood. He was born in Widnes, Lancashire and studied at Liverpool College of Art, 1954–9, then began extensive series of teaching appointments, interspersed with living and working periodically near St Ives in Cornwall and travelling to North America to teach from 1970.
