A life-size white marble figure of George Leeman, who stands with his left hand holding his waistcoat and his right hand raised in his habitual style. On the rear of the statue, at the base, the coat of arms of York is carved in relief. The statue stands on a pink granite plinth of square plan with moulded cap and base.
