A life-size Portland stone statue of the cloaked figure of the artist holding a palette in his left hand. Originally, he held an artist's brush in his right hand, but this has disappeared. He is standing before a badly eroded representation of Bootham Bar. The statue sits on a stone plinth with moulded cornices.
