Painter and draughtsman, born and lived in London, studied at Gravesend School of Art. He went on to work as creative studio manager for a gramophone record company. Wedgbury’s mixed shows included Six Blackheath Artists at Greenwich Theatre Gallery, 1969; Blackheath Art Society at Woodlands Art Gallery, 1972; Seen Gallery, 1975; and Who’s Who at ICA, 1978. Carried out commissions. His solo shows included Clytie Jessop Gallery, 1970; Nicholas Martine Gallery, 1972; Alexandra Monet Gallery, Brussels, Belgium, 1973; Paideia Gallery, Los Angeles, America, 1978; and Woodlands Art Gallery, 1979, where work had a strongly jokey, Pop Art quality. City of Manchester Art Gallery holds his portrait of the footballer Bobby Charlton. Decca Record Company and London, Manchester and Portsmouth Playboy Clubs also owned examples.
