Painter, especially of landscapes, born at Patricroft, Lancashire. He trained at the Harris Institute in Preston, Southport School of Art and with John Buxton Knight. He was a member of MAFA, Liverpool Academy and Sandon Studios Society. Showed at RA, RBA, RSA and extensively at Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, which holds his work, as does Manchester City Art Gallery and other public galleries in Preston, Southport and Bradford. Lived latterly at Ilkley, Yorkshire.
