David Wood Haddon was born in Potterspury, Northamptonshire, England. Nothing is known about his training as an artist. The 1881 census records him as a 21-year-old 'Electro Plate Worker' living in Birmingham. In the 1911 census he is listed as a 'Painter artist' living in Moseley, Birmingham.
He exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in Birmingham and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. He died in 1914.
