More about

The Dick Institute, opened in 1901, features two large gallery spaces, and several museum areas. Reputed to be the finest contemporary art gallery in the west coast of Scotland, this bright, fresh and airy modern space also plays host to many of the gallery talks and workshops which accompany with a regularly changing programme of exhibitions. The Young People’s Gallery can be found on the ground floor and is programmed by a group of young people who are interested in the visual arts, and meet regularly to discuss the gallery programme. Upstairs there are large displays of Local, Social and Industrial History, Fine Art and Natural Sciences. The building also houses library facilities including lending, junior, DVD, reference and internet access.
