Painter and printmaker, born in Dalry, Ayrshire, where he continued to live, also in Glasgow. He was elected RSW, RI and RSA, also showing at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, Fine Art Society and elsewhere. Much of his work was done in Ayrshire and Argyllshire. He was a member of Edinburgh Arts and Glasgow Art Clubs. Several public galleries hold examples of work by an artist who painted in the Impressionist manner.
