More about

A museum dedicated to the local and natural history of Southwold and the surrounding district. It has been in existence since 1832 and is housed in a pair of seventeenth-century houses. It contains an ever-increasing collection of artefacts, pictures, photographs, wildlife displays, and exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, illustrating aspects of the town's history. This covers a wide span ranging from prehistoric fossils found at Easton Bavents to the development of the town as a modern seaside resort.
