More about

The Adam Smith Theatre was created as a memorial to the great economist and philosopher Adam Smith, who was born in Kirkcaldy in 1723. The building, which opened on 11 October 1899, was funded by a bequest from Provost and linoleum manufacturer Michael Beveridge.    This venue and its collections are managed by OnFife on behalf of Fife Council.    The Theatre is currently closed for refurbishment which is scheduled to be completed for Smith’s tri-centenary celebrations in 2023.
