Michael John Churchill Bowman
b.1943
Landscape and portrait painter, notably of English, French and Italian scenes, influenced by both the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. After studying painting and lithography at Bournemouth School of Art and obtaining his postgraduate teaching qualification at the University of Southampton he taught art, latterly being head of art at Hardye’s School, Dorchester, then in 1997 retired to become a professional painter.
