A small number of paintings are held by Aberdeenshire Council outwith the care of Aberdeenshire Museums Service. Most of these paintings are in Fraserburgh, either at Fraserburgh Town House or Fraserburgh Library, with one painting held at the Kincardine and Mearns Area Office in Stonehaven.
The paintings at Fraserburgh Town House are of a number of civic dignitaries important in the town’s nineteenth-century history. Fraserburgh Library holds a collection of local landscapes by Andrew Webster, while the painting held at the Kincardine and Mearns Area Office in Stonehaven is a portrait by Sir David Wilkie of the 8th Viscount Arbuthnott.
