Dr Stephanie Howard-Smith is a historian of human-dog relations. Her PhD dissertation considered the role of lapdogs in eighteenth-century British culture and society and her published work explores dog culls, canine furniture and porcelain pugs. She is currently a postdoctoral research associate at King’s College London.
