William Gladstone was a British statesman and Liberal politician. He served for 12 years as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, spread over four terms – beginning in 1868 and ending in 1894. This larger than life-size portrait statue depicts him in modern dress speaking in the House of Commons, with his right hand outstretched and speech notes in his other hand. The statue is mounted on an ornate hexagonal-shaped pedestal.
