The work was created as part of a project for the Wherryman’s Way (Norfolk County Council). Set on a base besides the extremely precarious Vauxhall pedestrian bridge, just beyond the railway station, the elegant if small black wherry sail marks the beginning/end of the 35-mile Wherryman’s Way, which starts and finishes at Norwich and Gt Yarmouth railway stations before winding through existing footpaths, open marshes, redbuds, grazing meadows and riverside villages along the banks of the River Yare.
