The work was created as part of a project for the Wherryman’s Way (Norfolk County Council). The base of the mast, with its lead weight has been adapted as a bench with the addition of common broads' birds, a bittern and marsh harrier. It forms part of the 35-mile Wherryman’s Way, which starts and finishes at Norwich and Gt Yarmouth railway stations, winds through existing footpaths, open marshes, redbuds, grazing meadows and riverside villages along the banks of the River Yare.
