A gateway comprising a classical arch with side pillars and fluted columns supporting a frieze and shallow pediment. Low curved balustraded walls connect to terminal pillars on each side. The frieze bears the main inscription and a central emblem of a Staffordshire knot on a winged wreath in relief. On the main pillars on either side of the gate is a wreath in relief and a metal plaque with the names of the First World War dead. On the smaller side pillars, which are surmounted by a globe, are metal plaques with the names of soldiers killed in the Second World War. The opening of the arch contains a pair of decorative gates.
