Tall marble column on a plinth, surmounted by a statue of a Winged Victory standing on a ball and holding a crown of laurels high in the air. At the top of the column on the north face are a torch and wreath; and on the south face are a sword and wreath. The sculpture was initially designed for Thornton Square, Brighouse, but the site changed to Rydings Park before its dedication.
