An imposing and evocative Highland soldier depicted in steel helmet, greatcoat and 1914 equipment. He stands pensively leaning on his rifle with his left fist to his chin. The figure is set upon a rectangular stone pillar on a three-stepped base. On all four sides of the base are the names of the fallen.
