A Maltese wheel cross surmounting a slender octagonal pillar, the top of which is adorned by a crest incorporating crossed swords. Below is a square plinth upon a broad, three-tiered slab base, and the whole is enclosed by a metal fence. The front face of the plinth is adorned with a frieze depicting marching sailors and soldiers, carrying flags, stores, weapons and the equipment of war. The front face bears the general commemoration to the men of Newlyn who gave their lives in the First World War and Second World War. On the other faces are listed the names.
