Aberfeldy is in Highland Perthshire on the River Tey, the longest river in Scotland. The Scots poet Robert Burns visited these falls on his travels in 1787 and was so enthralled by the area that he penned the famous poem 'The Birks of Aberfeldie' ('birks' are birch trees).
