The yearning, lyrical text of Gupta's pattern poem underlines the abstract nature of border divisions. The high-visibility tape from which the letters are made draws attention to a more violent aspect of border politics, reminding us of security measures in the era of September 11th, the War on Terror and the 2008 attack on Mumbai. It is emblazoned with its own text, 'THERE IS NO BORDER HERE': high hopes or politically spun doublespeak?
