A stone gate pier with a circular plan, rusticated between four plain pilasters. There is a moulded capital on console brackets with raised dies at intervals, each carved with an anthemion motif. Two surviving pillars of four entrance gate piers, part of a scheme by Thomas Bunn (a prominent local solicitor) for a grand crescent to rival Bath's Royal Crescent.

Facing the Town Hall in Christchurch Street West, the first pillar is set back from the pavement to its right whilst the twin pillar is further left along the street on the same side, at the junction with Wesley Close.
