Inscription description
in raised lettering on a metal plaque fixed to the base: This Turret originally formed part of the Houses / of Parliament (erected 1840 - 1854), and was presented to the / Borough of Clitheroe by Captain Sir William Brass, M.P. / through whose generosity the surrounding garden also was constructed / in commemoration of the Coronation of H.M. King George VI, 12th May, 1937.
