The Old Schoolhouse dates back to 1640. At the end of the eighteenth century a second storey was added. After 1818 all Dollar children could attend Dollar Academy free, or very cheaply, and there were few pupils at the parish school. The building was used as the Working Men's Club for some years. Dollar Museum started its existence in a borrowed room upstairs in 1988. The Old Schoolhouse is now used for church and other village activities.
