A life-size young girl set at ease beside a pool originally made of fibreglass in 1958 and replaced in bronze in 1981–1983 with help from the original sculptor. The Naiad originally sat on a rock with her legs (which have no feet) in the pool in a square off Earl Street but fell into disrepair. She returned to public here in the precinct for the City of Culture remodelling of the precinct.
