A picture of the moment the British suffragette Emily Wilding Davison threw herself in front of the king's horse at the Epsom Derby, on 4th June 1913. She died on 8 June from her injuries.

Davison was born in Blackheath on 11th October 1872. She studied at Royal Holloway College and at Oxford University.
