Towards the left can be seen the tower of Clonleigh Parish Church of Ireland, which was added to the existing building about 1800. The turret-like structure at the centre of the painting is probably one of the towers of the County Gaol, built in 1793 by the same architect, Edward Miller, as, and in a similar design to, the former Derry Gaol. Both buildings have been demolished. A group of soldiers can be seen crossing the bridge from the Strabane side.
