The main door in the central bay is flanked by a large carved atlantes on brackets with leaf and flower carving. To the left of this is a stone sun set above one window. On the Westgate Road façade, a number of small metal sun faces are incorporated into the window guards. Above this, in a semi-circular pediment, is a large stylised depiction of the sun. Beneath are two emblems of insurance, consisting of a fireman's helmet and a large sunflower. The Sun Life Insurance Company was founded in 1710.
