Boulders blasted from the quarry in the hills above Penmaenmawr have been fashioned into cloud-like shapes and arranged around the red sandstone setting sun perched on the horizon of the terrace. This is a reminder of the simple but also profound pleasure of watching the sun sink below the horizon, set in a vast expanse of sky, an experience that once thrilled the crowds of summer visitors that holidayed here. This newly created terrace allows for this to be experienced while perched on a solid granite cloud.
