Reclaimed stone, previously a pillar in a Salford church, worked with a number of tools to create various textures.

An early sculpture by Tim Shutter, made the year after he left Manchester Art School. The person-sized sculpture with a curly hat and decorative body was a celebration in both the form and in the making. The sandstone was reclaimed from a Salford demolition site and worked in his home with a few hand tools. It was exhibited in the 1984 Manchester Academy, where the then-director Timothy Clifford approached Tim Shutter and negotiated its purchase for the collection. This work also received a Marks and Spencer's award for an artist under the age of 30.
