The town sign is created in low relief form. Each side is a mirror image of the other. The Celtic cross represents the John Hampden memorial. The foreground of the main panel are three Aylesbury ducks represent the close links with Aylesbury. Also in the main panel are the arms of De Mandevilles – a shield of red and gold quarters. On either side of the main panel are ears of corn representing agricultural history. At the top of the sign is a crow referencing the old saying of the village 'Stoke, where there are more crows than folk'. The lower half of the sign depicts a lady making lace, a reference to the local cottage industry. Opposite is an archer in a wheelchair as a reference to the Paralympics and games held at the nearby hospital.
