A standing statue of Steve Hislop 'Hizzy' – much-loved TT competitor, who died in a helicopter crash in 2003. There is another copy of this bronze in Hawick, his home town.

on bronze base: STEVE HISLOP 1962 – 2003; set between the Scottish thistle and the Manx triskelion, on stone base: This statue was unveiled by Geoff Duke OBE on 5th June 2005; on the two inscribed sandstone plaques on wall behind statue, left: Born in the Scottish Border town of Hawick, and raised at Southdean, Steve began his working and racing career in nearby Denholm, but latterly he lived in Onchan on the Isle of Man. One of the fastest and most stylish riders of his generation, he was respected and admired by his rivals and legions of fans. Tragically, at the age of 41 years, Steve was killed in a helicopter accident at Carlenrig, Teviothead, near his former home town. At the time he was the reigning British Superbike Champion.; right: this panel records his TT victories, 1987-1994 on the left, and other victories (1987–2002) on the right
